Cashmere Yarn: The Cream of the Crop
Use Cashmere Yarn for High-End Knitting Goods
Cashmere yarn is one of the most expensive yarns you can buy in North America to knit with. It's because cashmere yarn comes from the 'underdown' of the fleece of Cashmere goats, which are raised mainly in China, Mongolia and Tibet. Cashmere goats are found at elevations of 10,000 -- 15,000 ft., which explains why they have very warm, soft, luxurious fleece. However, it takes one goat to produce only 4 ounces of fleece a year -- that explains why cashmere yarn is so expensive!
