Offer Knitting Help for Profit

The lessons business: offering knitting help to newbies

Offering knitting help to 'newbies' is one of the most gratifying -- and lucrative -- aspects of being a professional knitter!

QUOTE: "The Praise of the Needle"

To all dispersed sorts of ARTS and TRADES,
I writ the needles prayse (that never fades)
So long as children shall be got or borne,
So long as garments shall be made or worne,
So long as Hemp or flax or Sheep shall bear
their linnen woollen fleeces yeare by yeare:
So long as Silk-wormes, with exhausted spoile,
Of their own Entrailes for man's gaine shall toyle:
yea till the world be quite dissolv'd and past;
So long at least, the Needles use shall last.

OFFERING KNITTING HELP FOR PROFIT

It only takes about 10 minutes of knitting help to teach an adult the basics of casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, and casting off -- in short, everything one needs to know to knit thousands of things! It might take half an hour or so to provide knitting help to an adolescent, so it's still a pretty quick skill to pick up.

Knitting is hot, hot, hot right now, so there are lots of folks, young and old, male and female, who want knitting help to learn it. That means that YOU can teach knitting, and help others learn -- quickly, easily, and profitably!

You can offer knitting help in a few different ways:

1. One-to-one tutoring. This is probably the most lucrative knitting help you can provide, because lots of folks are probably willing to pay for personal or private knitting lessons. The other great thing about one-to-one tutoring is that, if you have a willing student, you can provide knitting help indefinitely while someone learns newer and newer skills.

2. Classes. If you have room in your home to teach knitting help classes, you can have willing students come to you! Your fees for in-home knitting help need to include the cost of your time, 'wear and tear' on your house, and any materials or supplies you'll be providing.

3. Classes elsewhere. You can also offer your knitting help classes to your local yarn store, or to community centers, colleges and other schools and associations in your area. Quite often, the space will be provided, and all you need to do is turn up with your knitting help skills!

As you can see, offering knitting help in the form of private lessons or public classes is a great way to increase your income as a professional knitter!
